To confirm this is OB5 7 speed s tronic gearbox? .... The transfer case and the front diff only had about 1 litre of oil in each? I'm doing my cat delete now and it's really easy to do this maintenance work now as well. Just wanna order the correct amount.

This is what i need! Ive tried figuring whats wrong w/ some research but also maintenence & repairs along the way. A couple yrs of staying broke & no actual good advice concerning 'noise', trans smell, a/c issue, possible water pump due to noise, timing, hasnt helped the cause. Your timing video led me here. So how much is the cost here? Whats involved w/taking exhaust sprocket out w/ both guides & reinstalling the chain? Tools & cost? This is my next step after transmission fluid & replaced both solenoids which were in bad shape, gunked & stuck. Now im totally gonna check in the am as to where my engine cover has that 'most wanted' ring you speak of

I wish you could go over how you filled it with the r-410a, you didnt show how you connected the lines to fill the unit with refrigerant. You have the best video so far that i could find, but still lacks that detail.

So that is why my blend door actuator didn’t fit on my driver side. I guess I have to set up to that setting so it would be able to fit. Is that correct?

Set temp to 64. Took out actuator and cleaned. When cleaning I did not move any gear positions. On reinstall, my damper air mix door lever had dropped (I think). I had to push the lever up so the plastic square gear lined up with the lever square opening. On test, the actuator moves the lever down when at 60 deg. But on raising the temp to 64 degrees, the actuator moves the lever all the way up and blows warm air. I don't think the cog/alignment was off by 180 degrees. question 1: should the actuator be lifting the lever in small steps with temperature or one big motion. question 2: anyone try resetting the software controller somehow?

So I literally just got my wife's car out of the impound shop.. just earlier today the damn key broke inside the cylinder.. smfh.. I now how half the damn key inside the car.. in the parking lot of a CVS.. praying to god it doesnt get towed.. AGAIN.. and cost me another $600... any suggestions?? I'd like to just buy the entire damn ignition cylinder with key n all cheap or not theres a couple on Autozone, O'Reiley's, ect., may not be the best but I know they'll suffice for now.. therefore I have no key essentially to pull the cylinder out with or even turn over to accessory as you have.. I suppose I'll have to pick the lock in some way??

if my fan speed control isnt working, can i apply 12v to the gray wire with the black strip to verify the control switch is bad? I have tested the BCM and blower motor and that all checked out but the fan wont turn on or change speed when i turn the knob. from the wire diagram i have, that wire runs to the 16 pin C! on the back of the control box

can you do this with a map gas torch? To repair leak I mean.

it doesn't need the pump to come down, as long as the fluid is still in the cyl's it will just come down normal.

What normal R410a pressure should you read on these demuhidifier when turned off at room temp?

LOL I'm sure same problem: Not even 1 year old top Frigidaire Pump 70 pint unit - has the same tint blue coil. Ran for about a hear, then no gas, pump rungs coils room temperature LOL I wonder if this issue is related to the "blue" coils???

I'm about half way thru this job tonight. I was really annoyed when I spent about an hour searching for the right tool to remove the harmonic balancer and it was about a minute to actually do the job. I was starting to worry why mine was so loose when I pulled the bolt and you needed a puller. Bravo for posting that, your an honest man who I'd trust to work on my car. And thanks for a laugh (with respect). I used an "Earthquake" cordless impact wrench that was recently given to me to loosen the crankshaft bolt. After I finally found an 18mm socket I realized it was a 1/2''' drive tool and I had to search some more. When I had it all together that tool brrraped that bolt right off and the balancer was clearly loose. hour searching for 45 seconds of working. lol

I made the mistake of buying a Frigidaire FFAP5033W1 from a wholesaler off of Mercari for $90 less than Amazon. It was great for about 10 months. After sitting most of the winter, I noticed blue liquid in the tank. I cleaned that out, turned it on, and it ran awhile then quit, displaying "EC" without ever producing a single drop of water. I contacted Frigidaire. They said no warranty since it wasn't purchased from an authorized retailer. I took it apart and ran it with the cover off, compressor and blowers run, but nothing gets cold except a little coil (I think it's the capillary tube). If run long enough, the compressor gets too hot to touch. There was a little blue/green dried residue in random places in the unit, I assume is corrosion, but couldn't really tell the source of it. I'm assuming it's leaked out all of its R410a. I've replaced compressors and filled refrigerant on cars, but your video shows me this is probably over my head. I guess moral of the story is don't buy one of these without a good warranty. Or in my case, don't buy one of these at all and just live with a humid basement.

Great video! Very thorough and informative. Just this weekend, I partially disassembled my caliper that was corroding around the E-brake shaft; it was not leaking though. The E-brake was not working because the shaft was frozen in the caliper. The caliper was an AC Delco remanufactured part and only a year old. Because it was so new, I was irritated it froze already. I managed to get it freed up, but I'm not sure how long it will last before corrosion gets worse. Fingers crossed!

Gonna try this on my passenger side. Do you have to take the glove out to get access?

Hey Bud. Just north of you. Was wondering if you checked to see if that Schwaben kit fits 5l jugs?? Service a bunch of tdi dsg trans and would like to get that same kit that you have if it fits them also. Doesn't say in the description at ECS.

My mechanic did the same thing as you - put in 6L of oil, changed the filter, but didn't drain the excess oil at the end. I'm also now afraid that I have over 6L of oil in the gearbox. And everyone says that the maximum should be around 5L. Is it dangerous to drive a car with so much oil in the gearbox? Thanks for your reply.

you're supposed to put plug back in once the flow starts coming out bubbly, like it did after 2 or 3 seconds. Not to stop completely.

If you dont have the full tool can put the oil in the filter and used snap on to do oil temp than drain rest out ? Am doing mine dont have fill tool seen a few people do it this way is ok ?

I got the whining noise and then smoke in the engine bay immediately after starting it back up. Any idea if that smoke is? Could it be coolant residue? I didn’t see the coolant level on the coolant reservoir move…. The fan came on though. I topped the upper coolant hose orifice with some coolant to help with possible air pockets that could form.
